FROM THE ITALIAN CELIAC ASSOCIATION
TO ALL CELIAC ASSOCIATIONS WORLDWIDE
The President and the Steering Committee of the Association of Italian Celiacs are delighted to announce this new telephone information service - also available in English– which can facilitate and improve the quality of life of celiacs.

Thanks to a partnership agreement with Gruppo Seat Pagine Gialle, which specializes in multimedial communications, it is possible to receive swift, precise, up-to-date and reliable answers – also in English - to queries about venues and restaurants throughout Italy which are informed and monitored by the AIC (Associazione Italiana Celiachia – Italian Celiac Association) that serve gluten-free food.
At present there are over 1,000 venues – farmhouses, hotels, bars serving hot meals, bed and breakfasts, wineries, ice-cream parlours, inns, sandwich bars, pizza restaurants, pubs, restaurants, catering companies, trattorias and tourist villages – which have been selected by the AIC (Associazione Italiana Celiachia – Association of Italian Celiacs).
Exclusively from Italy and not from abroad it is possible to call the number 89 24 24 to ask for information about venues serving gluten-free food also in English.
The service provides:
-
looking for a venue in the place or near the place you are at the moment of calling or where you intend to go;
-
the day the venue is closed;
-
the address;
-
the telephone number;
-
the average price;
-
the number of stars and availability (for hotels).
To use the service you should use both of the following key words: “gluten-free menu” and “A.I.C. (Italian Celiac Association) informed”.
A text message with the number and address of the venue requested will provide you with the information you need.
It is also possible for you to ask for the call to be transferred directly to the venue concerned.
From a land line, the rates for calls to the 89 24 24 number are 0.026 Euro per second plus 0.36 Euro the moment the connection is made. For mobile phones the cost varies, depending on the server.
