The 2026 Investigator Grant Call of the Italian Celiac Association (AIC) will open today, June 25^th 2026, at 12:00 PM (Italian time).

Research Areas Funded by the 2026 Investigator Grant Call

The Call is aimed at funding the best research projects on celiac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis, and non-celiac wheat sensitivity (NCWS).

Requirements for Submissions to the 2026 Investigator Grant Call

Research projects will be proposed and conducted by senior researchers (Principal Investigator Applicants, PIs) with proven international experience in the field, at their Italian non-profit research organization (public or private).

Research projects submitted to the Call may be one year (annual pilot projects are also eligible), two years, or three years studies.

Projects eligible for the Call can be Single Research Group, Partnership (internal to the PI’s Institute or external, with collaborators at other non-profit Institutes) or Multi-center studies.

Funding

The AIC Investigator Grant 2026 Call is a co-funding programme: the PI and his/her Institute also participate in the selected research project through their own non-profit funds.

The total allocation is € 400,000.

Submission of Research Projects to the 2026 Investigator Grant Call

Research projects (Proposal Applications) may be submitted exclusively through the Associazione Italiana Celiachia Calls and Proposals Web Portal (aiccalls.celiachia.it) by the PI who will complete the required data and fields, and he/she will also attach the required PDF files and any optional ones, as indicated in the Call and in the annexed documents, which can be downloaded exclusively from the aiccalls.celiachia Web Portal.

The AIC Investigator Grant 2026 Call page on the aiccalls.celiachia Web Portal will be active on the day and at the time of the Call opening.

The deadline for submitting research projects is September 15^th 2026, at 12:00 (Italian time).
